Testo Take It Or Leave It - Commentary - Tyler Rich
Testo della canzone Take It Or Leave It - Commentary (Tyler Rich), tratta dall'album Two Thousand Miles (Big Machine Radio Release Special)
I'm having a great time talking to Tyler Rich about his new album "Two Thousand Miles"
It is out now and I hope you're loving the songs as much as I do
And the next one, it's kind of interesting to me because the title sort of sounds indifferent
It's called "Take It or Leave It"
But the guy in the song, I mean, he seems really hooked and into this situation
So, I'm wondering, I mean, is he just trying to play it cool?
Or what's the story behind "Take It or Leave It?"
So "Take It or Leave It" is the very first song I ever wrote about Sabina
And it is about meeting Sabina, her being caught up with
You know, her past and her ex and like
Just, you know, her own personal life and not ready for relationship type thing
And neither was I, but I was like, I would love to get to know you
And I would love to take you out, I would love to talk to you more
And it's just more about finding somebody that's been kind of down or through it
And telling them I can make your world a million times better
And I'm throwing my cards on the table right here
It's like walking up and giving your phone number to a girl
It's like, you could take it or leave it
And it doesn't mean leave it and I'm going to be happy
Because "Take It or Leave It" is that person's choice
But it's more of just like, I'm all in if you are to at least see what could happen here
Like if you want that fire, I'll bring it, you know, you want to be that high
It's a sex song for sure but in the regards of getting to know somebody
Yeah, I did notice a couple of lines in this song as I was reading the lyrics
And I'm like, huh, I think there's some innuendo in there
There's always some innuendo's right
And that whole song, the whole mood of that song
Is that one I wrote with Ben Stennis and Jaren Boyer
Michael Knox produced that one
And it was just such a jam, it's sex vibes, it really is
It's that vibe
It is what it is
But you know, I'm curious, I think that everybody at some point in their life
They play games or they try to play hard to get
Have you ever yourself or maybe witnessed some of your buddies play too hard to get
And they blow their opportunity with somebody?
I would say multiple times forever, including myself
Because we're preached over and over again from - you know - personal experience
To stories, we hear that girls want hard to get
And so it's like you try to play hard to get
But sometimes you just gotta go up and be your genuine true self
And throw your cards on the table
And then you could play the game a little bit once you got them hooked
You know, you don't wanna like answer right away every time, but
There's many times that I've, in my past, way before Sabina
But made eye contact with a girl somewhere and then played it cool
And like not looked again thinking they'll come to you and then thought about them later
I say do what I did with Sabina, I made eye contact with her
I didn't see her again for three days at Stagecoach and then I saw her again and I was like
Okay, I'm not playing it cool, I'm going in and I introduced myself
And now look at us
I know how cute you two are now
Well, you'll find this song on "Two Thousand Miles", that's the name of Tyler Rich's debut album
It's out now and this is "Take It Or Leave It"
Not so indifferent on Big Machine Radio
