Hi, this is David Page, and we're talkin' 'bout Unknown Soldier
Was inspired by Jeffery Prichard
Who was ah, vast ah, was a student of ah, the American Civil War
And was fascinated with this
And I always wanted to, ah, dedicate a song to him, write something about that
You know, your top favorite book was read by Jeff Courage
So I started writing little essays a few years ago
And, and I brought the lyrics over and Steve looked at it
And I just sat down, and we just knock the thing out
Yeah, we're finished, says look through again, over here, ah
He came over my house
And we just sat in my living room with the grand piano and acoustic guitar
Old school, a little tape recorder, we kinda
He had a, he had the beginnings of it
We just sort of finished it very quickly
In my house and he broke my piano
Still hasn't paid for it, so
I'm a little bit pissed off about that
Which is why we're going on tour
So I can make money to pay for the piano
Exactly, Jeffery is scaling at you right now
