Testo King - Thomas Ng

Testo della canzone King (Thomas Ng), tratta dall'album King

Uh-huh, uh, uh
Yeah, yeah
Uh-huh
Uh
Yeah, uh-huh
Used to think you're a king
Someone who built up kingdoms for me
One of a kind
Somebody no one else can be
I used to fantasize
But they were lies made up by me
Now I realized, yeah
Who you turned out to be
I wasted years, oh, what a shame (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
I was looking forward to you
I guess I'm to blame, yeah
You call me overly emotional and lackin' in my confidence
You made me feel like I'm an overall incompetent human
Said you were helpin' out (Helpin' out)
But all you did was try to hold me down
So now I understand, no doubt, no doubt
You can talk, but I'll just tune you out
You were never a king so please just shut your mouth
Please just shut your mouth
La-la, la, la (Uh)
La-la, la, la (Yeah)
As your kingdom falls and your built-
Up walls come crashin' down (On me)
I can see the lies through the bad
Disguise of the king you wanted to be
Wanna believe that there's a chance that you would be
The person I wanted you to be
But now I realize who you turned out to be
I wasted years, oh, what a shame (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
I was looking forward to you
I guess I'm to blame, yeah
You call me overly emotional and lackin' in my confidence
You made me feel like I'm an overall incompetent human
Said you were helpin' out (Helpin' out)
But all you did was try to hold me down
So now I understand, no doubt, no doubt
You can talk, but I'll just tune you out
You were never a king so please just shut your mouth
Please just shut your mouth
La-la, la, la (Please just shut your mouth)
La-la, la, la (Yeah)
La-la, la, la (Oh)
La-la, la, la (Uh)
Please don't pretend that you understand
That you understand, yeah, yeah)
Who I want to be and who I truly am (Who I truly am)
Please don't pretend that you understand
Please don't, please don't pretend)
Who I want to be and who I truly am
