Testo Intermission 2020 - Degs feat. Operate
Testo della canzone Intermission 2020 (Degs feat. Operate), tratta dall'album Mixtape Sprayout, Vol. 2
This year slammed the brakes
We stood still whilst the world changed
So unclear in just one take
When all we got is hope
We stood still watched the clubs close
Industry took a beating
No raves in this season
Lockdown it's like groundhog day
Face-to-face we're not speaking
Miss the vibes when I stand on stage
Young hearts we're depleted
Gimme the mic I wanna feel it
Can't see my mum on the weekend
She ain't getting no younger (younger)
All night we're just sleeping (sleeping)
one hour for the fresh air
Day by day it's repeating
Yeah I know it's for the greater good
We want the cases decreasing
Tryna go slow like nature would
But months pass it's fatiguing
Yeah this timeline passes slower than a snail It's like
We're on the side, wait for our turn like Gareth Bale
Working on myself to welcome everything I've got
'Cause I lost a couple friends up in this period, it's been a lot
This ain't the status quo for me, I'll probably lose the plot
It helps to focus on the good things, we're just
Searching for our spot, yeah four walls in this box
Panicking heads at the shop 2020's it's a flop
This year slammed the brakes
We stood still whilst the world changed
So unclear in just one take
We stood still watched our clubs close
Yeah
We stood still watched our clubs close
New phrases and cliches
Mask on it's the sequel
Many night shifts in the hospital
No P-P-E for the people
Government they're so callous
The policy it's medieval
Gatekeepers they won't let you in
Let the bottom starve it's so evil
Populism man it's killing us
Migrants the new target
It's a classic case of deflection
But the headlines yeah they start it (they start it)
It's so frustrating
My family work the hardest
Education is paramount
Otherwise the winters are harshest
But what the future holds depends on every heart
Do we want to see a time where empathy ain't on the chart?
I know these months have been so tough on all our dreams
But resilience it's prevalent throughout our history
And in the cold you see the human in our beings
Without the need to front we see togetherness for what it means
Three zoots and I'm lean
Man I got love for the scene 2020 yeah it's peak
This year slammed the brakes
We stood still whilst the world changed
So unclear in just one take
When all we got is hope
We stood still watched our clubs close
