I remember I was on a tour bus in the US
I was over there for a couple of months

And at one point I sent, it was just a sound
It was this long distorted horn sound
And they asked me to send it over to them
And I sent it over and then it came back with drums
And it was a very early demo of "Tense"
"Tense" was the first song we started together
And I remember the bass line that's kind of throughout it
The "bwah bwah bwah bwah bwah bwah bwah"
That was made on a plane with headphones on
On my keyboard and I was just tapping the keyboard
And I was trying to make a really aggressive bass line
So I was just slamming my hand really loudly
And the stewardess walked over and told me to stop typing so loud
And I remember that was the beginning of that song
The conversation was kind of like
"Oh, we should keep doing this
Like we should keep sending stuff and working on it
This is fun"
We thought we were gonna maybe collaborate on a song
And then it became two songs
Then it became three songs
And then it became like the thing that
We got to do when we weren't on tour
And then we decided
"Okay, we're gonna be in Australia for the Moment Apart tour
Why don't we just stay a couple days after
And we'll all get a house together in the middle of nowhere
And just make some music and see what happens?"
