Seeing the lights of the night

I finally arrived to where it seems

I was going to have to call my home

For the next couple of months

I got inside my hotel room and had one look

That was enough for me to know that this room looked and felt

Just like how I imagine my chest and head

Might seem inside of them if you look

The smell of smoke like I expect after having

Been forced and pushed to walk on fire

The faded paint on the walls

Letting you it has seen many people come and go

Some others trash it and then they're gone

Expecting the order and color to still remain

After they left through the front door

And I stare at the ceiling feeling stuck

Am I dreaming or sinking?

Who welcomed my parasomnias?

Did bitterness and selfishness create this paranoia?

I am just a bad memory

A bad dream

That makes you wake up a three

Is this how the winter feels like?

I didn't know what the cold was like

Until they married the steel on my back

And I started bleeding out

Finding myself scared and almost blacked out

I'm seeing the blood spill on my loved ones

And I'm arguing with God if I'm supposed to die

Or If I will survive and thrive with this knife buried in my back

But I know now that it is only the fall

And I still haven't seen what this season has brought

Even after witnessing this year turn everything cold as stone

I suppose this is the reason why we feel that there's no hope

Now I'm hiding behind these walls trying to cope

Writing about what I thought I would never see come forth

But at least I can say I fought

Now I am enclosed in this capsule I call home

In this room

In a lawless storm
