Testo Christ for You - Flame
Testo della canzone Christ for You (Flame), tratta dall'album Christ for You - EP
Maybe the reason you feel so empty
Is because you've reduced Christianity down
To just a contemplative spirituality
Lil' Brody say he hurt he popped an extra dose
Disillusioned by the church he say he hecka ghost
He say the western church tasting hecka gross
I say before you go, check that Extra Nos
You search and you search and you searching for (searching for)
Something that's more than a metaphor (Yeah you are)
Something that you can experience (Here He is)
That's deeper than what you've been hearing it's (What is it?)
A supper that He instituted (Yeah)
Along the way it got polluted (Dang)
But when the Church was persecuted (Bang)
They clung to it and ain't lose it (True)
They found their identity not in ethnicity
But in something that was rooted (Facts)
In the promise that He made to em (made to em)
In the elements He gave to em (gave to em)
And He said that He would save through em (saved, uh)
Give us life and forgave through em ('gave, uh)
Make us one (Yeah)
With God the Son (Yeah)
With bread and wine as the conduit
I know you by name, yes I do, ooh
When I'm coming down it's for you, ooh
As I come around it's for you, ooh
Lord's Supper bread and wine it's for you, ooh
I know you by name, yes I do, ooh
When I'm coming down it's for you, ooh
As I come around it's for you, ooh
Lord's Supper bread and wine it's for you, ooh
What you're looking for, yeah it's outside of us (uh)
They say, "How you keep the faith?"
I say He promised us (uh)
Immortality is ours, it's applied to us (uh)
Every time we eat His flesh and drink His blood (How so?)
Go look it up, look it up, look it up (ooh)
God so good He had to hook it up (ooh)
Because the conscious gets shooken up (ooh)
Now we are doing work trying to cook it up (ooh)
Yeah Jesus He made it a pledge (yeah)
Because He knew we'd get stuck in our heads (He did)
So He gave us a seal that's filled with a mystery
He in the midst of the bread (Amen)
Under, in and with the bread (Said)
Under, in and with the wine (Bodily? Wow)
Now His universal promise, He brings it down then I make it mine (Now)
So when we struggle with doubt
We do not look to our fruit or our purity (At all)
That will not bring security (No)
It's the supper He instituted that'll cure me
I know you by name, yes I do, ooh
When I'm coming down it's for you, ooh
As I come around it's for you, ooh
Lord's Supper bread and wine it's for you, ooh
I know you by name, yes I do, ooh
When I'm coming down it's for you, ooh
As I come around it's for you, ooh
Lord's Supper bread and wine it's for you, ooh
