We're very lucky today here on Big Machine Radio to have Charles, Dave
And Hillary, better known as Lady A, talking to us about their new
Album. As we play each song, they're giving us the stories
Behind the song, and the next one we want to talk about is "
All Right." I mean, with the banjo and just the lyrics and
The feel of this song, I feel like this is going to be a great
Go-to song for people who maybe just need a little pick-me-
Up in their life, in their day, or just want something that's
Going to make them feel good. So tell me about "All Right."
"All Right" is definitely the happy pick-me-up song off the
Record. I love how it starts, though. It starts very, you know
Hillary had this line, you know, "I ain't feeling pretty."
"What I want to wear don't fit me."
And it was like, it's giving yourself grace, you know
And it's hands down the most feel-good song off this record
I'm so glad we recorded it. It's a nice breath of fresh
Air, too, coming off of "Be Patient With My Love." We
Felt like we needed to give the listener a little break
Yeah, it is. It's one of those that I feel like it makes you feel
Good, and you can listen to it and just feel the production and
All the instrumentation. But then when you really dig into the
Lyrics, it is saying some stuff, which I'm really proud of and
Excited for our fans to hear this song. We wrote this song with
Justin Ebach and Busbee, and I'll cherish it forever with just
Walking through losing our dear, dear friend Busbee. And to me, this
Song, it just personifies him. And he is that guy that's like, "It's
All right," and would say the hard thing, but in a really great
Melodic, perfect way. And so I'm so excited that we
Have this song on this album. It fits the rest of the
Record perfect. I mean, the bridge of that song chokes
Me up every time because it's just, it's all Busbee
That's all Busbee, that melody
It's all Busbee, and it's so him. And for that reason alone, I'm
Grateful for it and know that it just is meant to be on this project
But I also think that it will be one that the fans will love
It's interesting because as I was reading the credits for your album
And when I realized that Busbee had a hand in writing this song
I thought, "How appropriate that this song with this message and
This sort of uplifting spirit would be something that would be
In your life at this point." And he wrote it with you. And it's
Almost like he left this as a message of how to deal and how to
Cope. And there's a saying, "Coincidence is God's way of staying
Invisible." And I just thought, "How beautiful that this song is
One of the things that you have to remember and honor Busbee with."
It is wild that the last couple songs that we wrote with Busbee
One that didn't make the record was a song called "The Rain" about
God made the rain. And it's kind of about trying to explain to your
Kid, you know, why does it rain? And they're both very positive
Outlooks on bad things. And that was Busbee. And it is funny
I listen to the song so much different now, too. And I can hear his
Melodic sense all over it, you know. And I remember him on that
Bridge singing out that last line, "Ain't nothing that the good Lord
Can't change." And we're going to cherish that one for a long time
Well, here it is. It's "All Right" from Lady A's album, "
