Testo This Guitar - Def Leppard
Testo della canzone This Guitar (Def Leppard), tratta dall'album Diamond Star Heroes Live From Sheffield
Yeah, that will work
Who's next?
We met in my mum and dad's house in Broomhill in August of 1977
47 years ago, holy shit
We've been best mates ever since, "I'm the base guitar, it's the Rex Savage
Once again, this time with the acoustic on board
From Belfast, in Northern Ireland, Mr. Vivian Campbell
And last but not least, our Honorary Yorkshireman
From the East End of London, Mr. Phil Collen
Now, we're a slightly different arrangement to how we recorded it
We were going to play another song from the Diamond Star Halos album
And, uh, just so you all know, Steve's mum, she's here tonight
Steve Clark's mum, Bel, is up there
Hey Bel!, and his little brother Chris
So we're going to dedicate this to Chris and Bel, and of course to Steve
This is called 'This Guitar
At 17,I hadn't seen
That thing that makes us real then I found you
At 24, I wanted more
When no one else would listen, you sang with me
You're my shoulder to cry on
You're the best of best friends
You brought fire to my fingers
You brought joy to no end
My brother, my sister, my lover, my wife
It's crazy I know, but this guitar saved my life
Broken down, border town
Feels like the end of time without you
You came to me and made me see
Caressed me with your honesty endlessly
You're my shoulder to cry on
You're the best of best friends
You brought fire to my fingers
You brought joy to no end
My brother, my sister, my lover, my wife
It's crazy I know but this guitar saved my life
Me with you, you with me
The ghosts all disappear naturally
You lay to rest, my emptiness
And show the world your beauty, through me
You're my shoulder to cry on
You're the best of best friends
You brought fire to my fingers
You brought joy to no end
My brother, my sister, my lover, my wife
It's crazy I know, this guitar
This guitar saved my life
Thank you!
Thank you very much, this guitar
Um, that was a newish one, this one, not so much
You may know this, if you do know this one
We'd love it if you'd sing along with us, okay?
Okay? Alright
