Are no rules on this record," you know?
Yeah. Yeah. It was such a great way to work without all of this
Pressure and all of this... You know, in a lot of ways, we
Don't feel like we have anything left to prove. That's not sayin'
That to be arrogant, it's just that we don't feel the pressure
Of havin' to sell 500,000 records again, or a million records
Or have another hit song, you know? It's great to create with
The freedom of knowing that you can take a deep breath now
And kind of enjoy where you are in life and in your career

Hour, man. Jay wrote the snot out of this tune, and it
Is so what I love about the '80s influence on country
Music nowadays, 'cause that's exactly what it is, and...
It's my ode to the '80s. I took everything I
Loved about the '80s and put it in one song
From the instrumentation to the lift

All the changes, the key changes, and...

Us an email, "What do you guys think?" I mean
One listen, I was like, "I'm in!" I'm goin' there
And I was drivin' to the studio, Jay sent it, and I was out
At my farm, and- but when he sent it, it just said, "Kiss
Me while you can," and I didn't have any- I didn't have
The track on there, so I'm like, "Hmm..." And then I didn't
Respond, 'cause I- I couldn't hear it on the thing, and I
Got to the studio and Jay played it, and I'm like, "Owwww!"
Well, first off, you- you gave him a kiss as soon as you walked in
He was awesome. I know, I was like, I mean, this is my cousin
So yeah, I mean, I guess I can. We kissed, you know
I assumed by the non-response that Gary hated it, so I was like
"I guess we're not doin' that song." And then he came in and I
Was relieved when he said, "I didn't get the track to come in."
I showed him, like, "There's nothin' on here." So after I pulled
My tongue out of his mouth, we went ahead and- and we, uh...
It's a cousin thing, I mean c'mon
It was my first write with Steven Lee Olson and- and Greg Wells
It's very rare you get a- you get a song that ends up bein' a cut
With a first write with somebody, but it was one of those days
