Show the cloud is continuing to expand
Experts say at its current rate of travel
The entire nation will be completely covered in just a matter of hours
Police are asking you to please remain indoors and not panic
The President has ordered the military to be on emergency alert
And they stand by, powerless, forced to watch and wait
As the cloud expands
Many people are now placing spiritual significance on its appearance
Leaders from mainstream religions and apocalyptic cults
Are declaring it to be anything from the Second Coming
To a grim consequence of man's abuse of nature
Fueling the speculation are reports from across the country
That the only light piercing this churning, inky shroud
Are beams of sunlight, which are only falling on places of worship
All religions and denominations
As the cloud continues to expand across the nation
The rest of the world looks on with growing concern
