Testo Evening Primrose [Live] - Liz Callaway
Testo della canzone Evening Primrose [Live] (Liz Callaway), tratta dall'album To Steve with Love: Liz Callaway Celebrates Sondheim
I told you earlier that
Some of the songs I was going to sing tonight
I'm singing for no other reason than
I think they're great songs, and I love to sing them
And, these next two fall into that category
They're from a TV musical
That Steve wrote in the 60's
Called Evening Primrose
And the premise, like a lot of Sondheim shows, was unusual
It was about a group of people
Who were secretly living in a department store
And one of them was a young woman named Ella
Who had lived in this store since she was six years old
Imagine, what it would feel like
To have spent almost your entire life inside
