Testo City Pals - Javelin
Testo della canzone City Pals (Javelin), tratta dall'album Hi Beams (Commentary Version)
City Pals is a reference to our favorite sitcoms of the 70s and 80s
At least the titles of them like Perfect Strangers and Bosom Buddies
And pretty much any sitcom after that was set in a city
Aside from the suburban ones like
Who's the Boss and Full House and stuff
You know, after Seinfeld especially you got
People living in an apartment in Manhattan or Chicago or wherever
It's interesting because they're city pals
But there is a serious bent to the song too, I think
I don't know
It was written on piano and then translated to harpsichord
That electric harpsichord sound
Some people have told me that it sounds exactly
Like a Wings track or an Alan Parsons Project track
And I have to say, the chord progression wasn't stolen from anywhere
But it's definitely cribbed from that time period and that style
